Glock 40 Vs 45 - I need some thoughts on buying a Glock 40 10mm versus a Glock 21/41 45 ACP. I currently have (6) 9mm pistols including a Glock 19X and a Glock 34 Gen 5 MOS - I only have one in 45ACP and a HK Expert and no 10mm pistols. I've been thinking about adding another 45 once I load it up since I have the dies, brass and ammo. Until recently I had never heard of a Glock 40 10mm with a 6 inch barrel. I was never keen on 10mm so I figured the Glock 40 would be a good addition to my stable. I've looked online and can't find any brass or balls for the 10mm dies and even RCBS 10mm dies are hard to come by. Going the 45 ACP route makes sense, but the idea of having a 10mm really excites me. My question is for Glock 40 owners, were you really happy with this model and if so what makes it attractive?
Note: Any of the above pistols will be pretty much a ranged pistol with no intention of casually carrying or hunting.
Glock 40 Vs 45
I don't own a 40, but I do own a Gen 4 G20 and it took less than a month for the 10mm to become my favorite pistol caliber.
Mm Versus .40 Smith & Wesson: Which Caliber Is Better For Self Defense?
I also agree that 10mm is the most versatile pistol caliber out there, especially when you're reloading.
Without changing extractors, ejectors or springs, it was 100% with .45 ACP, Italian .45 HP, 10MM and .40.
Shoots close enough to the target with all the charges I used to satisfy me, dangerous for everyone

How Many Rounds Does A Glock Hold?
I love the 10mm. You're not 40 yet, but you're 29 and 20. That means if you can't feed her, it's just a paperweight. I also own a 30 and a 21. If I were you...now...and couldn't find 10mm cartridges or components, I'd go with the 21s or 41s. First of all. But next time I would look for 10mm.
All of these barrels work at 21, only about half of them at 20/40 and none at 41.
You can shoot a 10mm with a 10mm barrel in a 45 ACP barrel, but you can't shoot a 45 ACP in a 10mm barrel because of the smaller 10mm barrel. KKM and Lone Wolf make 10mm conversion barrels for the G41 and G21.
That makes the Glock 40 great, huge and heavy and would be a good choice too.

A Glock in 45acp can become a 10mm, but not the other way around. Additionally, the 45acp can be made to shoot the 45 Super. So it's more versatile in that regard.

Assuming you're in it for the long haul, start getting the supplies you need and you'll be rolling your own in X months. Read on for the range of loads that 10mm self-rolled mags offer - from light to heavy, tough, it's extremely versatile and fun to shoot.
Crownline202 said I have 21, 41 and 40 but if I could only have 1 it would be 21. All of these kegs work in 21 only about half of them in 20/40 and none in 41. Click to enlarge. You have a fantastic collection of barrels for your extremely versatile G21. Excellent!
The .45 Caliber Handgun Is Far From Dead: Here Are The Best
I wasn't sure if your barrel marked 21L40S in the photo is the G21 barrel in .40 Super in your fine collection. 40 Super seems to be the hardest to find for G21 and G30 lately. In the past they were offered by Lone Wolf and EFK Fire Dragon.
I recently contacted IGB Austria about .40 Super barrels for the G30 and G21. They offer a .400 CorBon barrel, but they don't have the tooling for the .40 Super, which I find very odd. IGB still offers an amazing range of standard length and extended length barrel conversion calibers for the G21 and G30. They can be ordered directly from IGB or through their US distributor from YRSInc.
I like the idea of a versatile G21, although I don't own one. Since I mostly shoot slow now, I went with the longer barrel of the 41. Having no use for the 10mm I never considered it, but with the KKM 10mm barrel for the G41 I like the idea of a threaded 10mm barrel and a comp. Even then, I'd probably stay away from nuclear stuff. A lot of 10mm force hitting the bolt face made for the larger 45 acp is a crack waiting to happen IMO. I'm not sure if the neutered 10mm is any more effective than the 45 acp. You can also get a G22/35 and shoot a heavy 40 S&W.
Buy a 41, it's roughly the same dimensions as a 1911. Add a KKM 10mm conversion. It's everything you need (except for the 10mm magazines).
Bang!: These .40 Caliber Pistols Are Among The World's Best
I own, carry, load and shoot the G 29, 20SF, 20 gen 4 and G 40 of course and every .45 caliber pistol that Glock makes. 41 with KKM barrel is my recommendation
Except for the markings, the underside is the same for both. My G20 was built on top of the G21 below, simply slipped onto the G20 slide and swapped magazines. As mentioned, the G20 conversion barrel fits the G21 slide. If you just want to play around then the G21 is probably the most versatile as you also have 45 Super and 460 Rowland options. IMHO, YMMV

Yes, the Lone Wolf 21L40S is a 6" 40 Super barrel for the G21. Definitely one of my favorites!
Glock 45 In 9 Mm Luger, Test Firing The Crossover Pistol Between Glock 17 And Glock 19
For those unfamiliar with the 40 Super, it makes the 9x25 and 357sig look small. Underwood 135gr produces 950 ft/lb. And 200 g equals 925 ft/lb.
I have 40 MOS. It's one of the most accurate and fun guns I own. I have a 3 MOA Vortex Red Dot upstairs and was routinely flipping 8" steel sheets at 100 yards at the range the other day.
